Skinner Brothers Wilderness School
Summer between 6th and 7th grade

Dear Mom-

I have decided to write you this letter because I have nothing better to do. I'm sure I am allergic to something because ever since the first day I have had a sore throat and runny nose along with a slight cough and sneezing. It doesn't get any better or any worse so I have been participating in the "normal" activities.

Please send 2 boxes of Sucrets, 2 boxes of liquorish flavored cough drops, and a box of Kleenex. Also send a big box of Kleenex with the Kleenex removed and put candy in its place. Cover the entrance to the box with a few sheets of Kleenex so it looks real. I'm asking you to do this because if they find out I received candy they will make me share it with the whole camp. Not that I'm stingy, but THE WHOLE CAMP! Good grief!

Well anyway, I am having fun and things are pretty much like they said they would be. I just got back from a series of cover-ups which is jumping in the river and floating down it. I went shooting and did pretty well today. I am the teepee's number 1 fire builder on a count of nobody else can build a fire without filling the teepee with smoke. We are still having a series of lectures and practices with shooting, hunting, stream crossing and cover-ups. The food is not as great as I was lead to believe, but it is edible. Please send me my medicine and the stuffed Kleenex box.

All my love,

Eric

PS I went water skiing and got up on the first try.
