Religious Tolerance Axiom

Every religious belief that cannot be disproved is possible unless that belief specifically holds that another religious belief that cannot be disproved is impossible

OK, I am pretty much an atheist except for one minor point. I don’t believe I know for certain that there isn't a God. Ironically, that would take an act of faith. So I don’t believe in God in any traditional sense, but I have to admit that I can’t prove it. So I allow for that possibilityno matter how slight.

I’ve recently read Life of Pi by Yann Martel and found the book to be very thought provoking. My take is that the author is suggesting that there are many possibilities for the spiritual order of things, including atheism, that cannot be proved or disproved. Some are fantastic, inspirational, beautiful, and contain great wisdom. Other perspectives are mundane, cruel, thoughtless, and depressing. Which would you rather believe; the more likely or the more lovely?

Choose as you see fitI dobut allow others to do the same.  They may have chosen more wisely, if less logically, than you.
